FORMALITIES
A valid passport is needed to enter any of the countries that we hunt. South Africa does not usually require a Visa. However some countries including Zimbabwe do require a visa for entry. Most of the time a visa can be obtained at your port of entry into that country.

CITES PERMITS
Certain animal species will require a CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) permit for the import of the trophy into your country of origin. We do not recommend applying for the permit before you have harvested your desired trophy. After your safari you can apply as you will then have the required documentation from Floodland African Safaris in order to apply for your CITES permit.

INSURANCE
In the unlikely event of a hunting accident and/or need for emergency evacuation, Floodland African Safaris recommends Global Rescue – the number one trusted partner for evacuation during hunting accidents. Visit their website at www.globalrescue.com.

We suggest that you arrange for general travel insurance through your credit card provider when booking your trip.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A 50% deposit of total daily rate is payable upon confirmation of booking. Balance is payable 60 days before commencement of safari. Trophy fees are payable on completion of your safari. All payments to be made in US currency. We accept wire transfer or cash. As an extra service we also accept credit cards (with a 5% surcharge).

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel more than six months prior to the hunt, you are entitled to 50% of your deposit refunded; cancellation less than six months prior to your hunt results in deposit being forfeited. Or, your deposit may be carried forward to the next calendar year without penalty. Cancellation in subsequent year will result in complete forfeit.

WOUNDED ANIMAL POLICY
A wounded animal is regarded as a shot animal, and the full trophy fee will apply. However we will do our best in finding any wounded animal be it from the surface or the air.

FIREARMS & AMMUNITION
Bring a bolt action or a double rifle (muzzleloaders are also welcome). For Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant- a minimum caliber of 375 or higher is recommended. For Lions, Leopard, Antelopes and other medium game – a caliber of 300 or 30-06 will be sufficient.
For dangerous game – 40 full metal-jacket cartridges as well as 40 soft-point cartridges are required. For medium game, you will need at least 80 soft-point cartridges.

Fit your rifle with a good quality scope with variable power: 1.5-6 x 42, 2.2-9 x 42 or the like. For transportation of your rifle between hunting areas, a soft case per gun is required. The legislation governing international flights demands that rifles and ammunition be transported in lockable cases with ammunition packed separately. If you decide not to bring your own firearms you can rent from us.

FLIGHT ARRANGEMENTS
We highly recommend that you use a travel agent who not only specializes in international travel, but also has the knowledge and experience to handle the special arrangements required for hunters. Although you are free to choose whom you please, we recommend Travel Trendz.

In addition to being highly experienced, they are also a direct link to Afton Guest House.
